Part of Peter's remains will be interred what should i put for this, how to word in County Down, Ireland, later in the summer in his hometown, where his heart will come home.

Pete was born on Oct. 8, 1928, to John and Mary Gallogly in Gilford, Ireland. At 18, he emigrated to the United States where he joined his brothers in New York City. Pete enlisted in the Air Force where he began his lifelong career as a firefighter.

While stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, he met the love of his life, Darlene Mahoney. The couple married in Reykjavik, Iceland in 1954. After settling in Great Falls, Peter started his career with the city fire department, retiring as a Captain and Battalion Chief. Pete and Darlene raised their family of seven in Great Falls. After retiring they moved to Billings, were he was employed as the Fire Chief at Exxon Refinery.

Pete was an accomplished athlete and sports enthusiast. As a young man he played soccer, but was best known of his prowess as a golfer. He was able to play the game he loved very well up until the time of his death. With much pride, he followed all of his kids and grandkids in all their sporting activities throughout the years.

Always one with an open door to his home and his heart, he raised not only his seven children, but had a marked influence on many others touching forever the lives of all who met him. Affectionately known as "Mr. G.", he will be long remembered for his telling a humorous story with a twinkle in his eye and the gift of Irish Blarney. He had a special fondness for all of the people who passed through his home on 24th Avenue. A great source of joy for Pete was his time spent with Darlene coaching and managing "The Sponsors", their daughter's championship softball team where they forged many wonderful relationships.

Pete is survived by his children, Colleen Gallogly of Phoenix, Ariz., Maureen Gallogly-Klaboe (Paul), Sean Gallogly (Nancy), Brendan, Peter, and Kathleen Gallogly all of Billings; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings; wife, Darlene; and son, Kevin.

Gallogy Family,

My heartfelt condolences. I have many fond memories of Pete. He was a great spirit, and a kind and welcoming soul. To say that Pete touched a few lives would be a vast understatement. He enriched the lives of many young adults. He didn't judge; he simply engaged us in easy conversation and laughter. May fond memories of Pete bring comfort to you in this time of sorrow. With Sympathy –

Your father was a good man and I remember him fondly, with his Irish eye's a smiling. I remember your mother Darlene as well, both of them great people, and they will be remembered.
