Lally, Monsignor Dennis M.

Monsignor Dennis M. Lally, 77, New London, formerly of Green Bay, entered into eternal life Thursday, July 21, 2016.

Monsignor Lally was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Peter and Esther (Bergquist) Lally. He attended Nazareth Hall Seminary, St. Paul, and St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota. Archbishop Leo Binz ordained Father Dennis Lally on March 13, 1965, at St. Paul Cathedral for the Archdiocese of St. Paul.

After ordination, Father Lally served as Assistant Pastor at several parishes in the Archdiocese of St. Paul. In 1969, he was appointed Secretary to Archbishop Leo Binz. In 1974, he was raised to the dignity of Honorary Prelate of His Holiness by Pope Paul VI. Monsignor Lally transferred to the Diocese of Green Bay in 1981, and served as Associate Pastor/Parochial Vicar of St. Bernard Parish, Appleton. In 1982, he was appointed Pastor of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Green Bay. That same year he was incardinated into the Diocese of Green Bay.

Monsignor Lally served as Administrator of St. Patrick Parish, Lebanon since 1994. Since then, he also served as Chaplain of St. Joseph Residence, New London, where he passed away. Over many years, he served the Marriage Tribunal in several capacities including Field Advocate, Judge of the Inter-Diocesan Tribunal of the Province of Milwaukee, and Judge for the Diocese of Green Bay Tribunal. In addition, Father served as a Regional Vicar and a member of the Priest Personnel Board.

Reception of the body by the Regional Vicar, Very Reverend Mathew Simonar, will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27 at St. Patrick Church, Lebanon, N5705 County Rd T, New London. Visitation will continue until 7:00 p.m., when the prayer service begins. Visitation will continue in the morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The Funeral Liturgy, expressing our faith and our hope in the promised glory of the Lord's Resurrection, will follow take place on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at St. Patrick Church, Lebanon, at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop David L. Ricken, Celebrant. Entombment will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

Msgr Lally you will never be forgotten. You married our daughter and baptized our grandchildren. Your kind words were with our family in the death of my brother, mother and father. Please keep praying for my family and give hugs and kisses to my loved ones in heaven. Love you.
