Paul Huntley Obituary

Huntley, Paul D.

Paul D. Huntley, 59, of Green Bay, left us too soon on Monday, July 7, 2014. He was born March 7, 1955, in Racine to Donald and Lillian (Stegelmann) Huntley.

Paul graduated from Southwest High School, Class of 1973 and went on to attend NTWC. On December 31, 1993, he married Diane Siebert. Paul had two lifelong passions- music and electronics. He "lived" at Henri's Music from the age of 15 on. There is hardly a musician in the area that did not have contact with Paul. He also worked many years at Valley Scale and most recently, Northern Sound and Video. Paul was a talented musician and was in many bands throughout his life including, Shy Guys, Freedom Express, 2nd Century Band, Strawberry Hill, Road House, most recently, The Blue Rays. He even toured nationally with "White on White" where he had the opportunity to play on stage with Chaka Khan (while they were trapped in a hotel during a hurricane). Paul was an avid self-taught woodworker and had many other abilities, hobbies and interests, and shared them generously with others.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Diane; his parents; brothers and sister-in-law, Bob and Terri

Huntley and Bill Huntley. He is further survived by many other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sharon Huntley.

Paul lived an absolutely interesting life. Come celebrate Paul with us and share your stories at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12. The Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Ann Froelich officiating. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Paul's name.

Diane would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to family and friends for their love and support.

Diane, Paul was the kindest person I have ever known. His gentle heart will always be with me. I toured with him as member of the band white on white. He was one of those people who could light up your life, even on a completely dismal day. I will miss him dearly and pray for him as Paul is one of those people you can never forget. I am so sorry for your loss.

Diane,
The Jeff Young family just found out about Paul passing. We had no idea otherwise we would have come to the funeral. 'Uncle' Paul was a great man. I knew him from a tiny toddler watching band practice in our basement. Both Paul and Roger hold a special place in my heart as they were what I remember Road House to be, the greatest 3 man band alive. We all love you both dearly. We are all so sorry for your loss. I hope this message reaches you Diane. Xoxo The Jeff Young Family, Debbie Young (the youngest)

There are places I remember....

Our hearts and prayers go out to Diane and the rest of the Huntley family during this tragic time and the loss of a loved one. Paul was not just a musician and Electronic Tech. He was much more than that. He was a unique individual who cared about all the people he came in contact with. He loved his wife, life, friends, and music. I had the pleasure of working with Paul for many years at Henri's Music and playing with him in a number of bands. We did some crazy things together. His warm smile and great personality made the day for everyone.

In our lives....We love you Paul.

Paul, always a gentleman, good straight-ahead, solid bassist. Meant to ask what model bass strings you used on your white Fender Precision. Called Scott G, let him know. Was also shocked. Dave Rodgers.

I'll forever miss your smile, humor and calm, centered spirit. My world was always a brighter place when you were around. Your musical, melodic, driving bass lines always were a delight, but never as delightful as spending time talking and laughing with you. You were the sweetest, most gentle spirited person I've known. Thank you for your friendship, my good friend. I will miss you... My thoughts and prayers to Diane and the rest of the family.

Paul was one of the first friends I had when we came to WI. Randy and I used to go blab with him while he fixed our amps and things. Paul was a bass hero to me and he was always super nice to us and I loved his smile. :)

A Yellow Finch landed on our window sill today, as your loving wife Diane, Mary and I talked in our den. The little bird stayed there for a while, looking in at all three of us. Almost as if he was listening. We were all thinking the same thing, and your loving wife Diane said, "That's Paul's spirit in the little finch " That was the first and only time in our 15 years in our home a bird ever did that on our window sill. It was such a beautiful sight in a world of gray at this time of grief.
We will miss you Pauly!
