Marquardt, Shirley

Shirley Marquardt, 82, Green Bay, formerly Oconto Falls, died Saturday evening, March 21, 2015 at a Green Bay hospital. She was born February 3, 1933 in Marinette to Jess and Hazel (Lynch) Faucett. As a teenager, Shirley moved with her family to Oconto County where she attended Oconto Falls High School.

On April 10, 1950 she married Neil Marquardt in Oconto Falls. Following their marriage the couple lived in Oconto Falls where they raised their five sons. Eventually Neil and Shirley retired to Conover and spent their winters in Texas. Following Neil's death in 1991, Shirley lived in Green Bay, Prentice and Oconto before settling in Green Bay. While living in Prentice Shirley served as choir director and had been active in whatever church she belonged to over the years.

Survivors are four sons, Thomas (Mary) Marquardt, Green Bay; Andrew (Carla) Marquardt, Oconto Falls; Bradley (Cheri) Marquardt, Prentice; Brian (Rose) Marquardt, Green Bay; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Marquardt and an infant brother, Robert Faucett.

Visitation with the urn present will be held after 9:30am Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Monday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Paul Demuth officiating. Burial of the urn will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Paul's Pantry, 1529 Leo Frigo Way, Green Bay, WI 54302.

The Marquardt family would like to thank Linda at ADRC, who we couldn't have done it without, the entire staff at Angels on Humboldt Assisted Living, especially Jodie and the doctors and staff of Bellin ICU, especially nurses Lindsey, Nichole and Paul and Drs. Smith, Gifford and Ahuja for the care and consideration given to Shirley and her family during their time together.
