SPRINGFIELD — Mrs. Lucinda "Cindy" Ann Gardner died while surrounded by loved ones on 1 September, 2016 after a strong fight against cancer. Lucinda was born August 13th, 1950 in Springfield, OH, the daughter of Mr. John L. Brewer and Mrs. Betty Brewer. Cindy very much enjoyed the outdoors, animals, riding her horse JJ, singing Karaoke, and most of all, spending time with her family. She had a special place in her heart for her children and grandchildren and cherished each moment she could spend sharing the smallest to the biggest events in life. She always brought a smile to those around her with her spunk and positive attitude, even in the face of adversity. In 1972, Cindy married the love of her life, Mr. Martin E. Gardner, after having met while both were serving in the United States Air Force. She traveled the world as an Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve member of the military, retiring as a Technical Sergeant after 22 years of honorable service. In addition to raising three children and successfully completing a career in the military, Cindy was an active member of the church, where she found the love of Christ and the fellowship of the church family that were so instrumental in enabling her joyful attitude and providing the strength she needed to hang on for every last moment with those she loved. Cindy is survived by her husband, Martin E. Gardner; three sons, Bryan Gardner, Kevin Gardner, and David Gardner; three sisters Debby Luke, Sandy Henderson, Linda Sink; two brothers Craig Brewer and Johnny Brewer. She also leaves behind numerous other loving relatives and friends. Viewing to be held 5-8pm, Wednesday, 7 September at Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville. Funeral services will be held 10am, Thursday, 8 September at Grace Baptist Church, followed by graveside services at Glen Forest Cemetery.
