GREENSBORO Amy Lou Chenery, 88, peacefully passed on Monday, February 19, 2018. Amy Lou was born August 13, 1929, in Eau Claire, WI. She attended the University of Wisconsin, where she received her degree in home economics. In August 1956, Amy Lou married Richard "Dick" Chenery. They spent 56 wonderful years together until Dick's passing in 2013. In 1973, they moved their family to Greensboro, where Amy Lou was very involved in the community. As a parishioner of Holy Trinity, she served in the Altar Guild for decades. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, served as an active member of the Junior League, and participated in the Garden and Lecture clubs. She also thoroughly enjoyed sewing, painting and gardening. In recent years, her most cherished time was spent with her exercise group at Greensboro Country Club. Her beautiful life will forever be remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her two sons, Rich and Jimmy, wife Michelle, her granddaughters Katie, Mackenzie, Carly, and great-granddaughter Abigail. A memorial service in Amy Lou's honor will be held Saturday, March, 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. A celebration of her life will be held following the service at the O'Henry Hotel's Cloister Garden and Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Amy Lou's honor to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Online condolences may be offered at www.forbisanddick.com.
