Mittie Vinita Weaver Mittie Vinita Weaver, 85, endearingly known as PomPom to all her Loves, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 2, 2011. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, 6102 West Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington 76016. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. (Please enter lane B between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.). She was born on July 13, 1926 in Dermott, Texas as the 6th child of William Roland Wilson and Mittie Leota Norrell. As a young woman, she was swept off her feet by Sgt. Joseph Edwin Weaver while working at the local soda shop in Littlefield, Texas. They were married in 1944 and began their life of almost 67 years together. They moved to Lubbock where she raised their family in a loving, nurturing Christian home. Vinita worked in retail sales at Dunlaps Dept. Store. After their children were grown, Vinita and J.E. moved to Waco. She continued her career at Goldstein-Migel until 1979. With a leap of faith, they moved to Sulphur Springs and established Weaver Cadillac as a family business with their son. In 1987, they returned to Arlington to be closer to family. As J.E. retired, Vinita continued to work for Dillards until 2006. After her retirement, she impressed her granddaughters by attending Real Estate School and graduated as a licensed Realtor at the age of 80. She was excited to work along side daughter/broker of Cherri Huddleston Properties, LLC. Vinita shared her faith at work and in her personal life. As shown in Colossians 3:23-24, she knew her rewards were in Heaven and not on this earth. One of her favorite scriptures was Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. She lived her entire life in total love, honor, praise, obedience, complete service and total surrender to HIM. She loved her Savior completely and couldn't wait to spend eternity with Him. All who knew her saw Christ in her and in everything she did. She spent the last few years of her life caring for the love of her life, her husband J.E., until his death this past November 23, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. Weaver; daughter, Toni Weaver Lewis; her Parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her son, Brad Weaver; daughter, Cherri Weaver Huddleston; granddaughters, Kristi Lewis Shaw and husband Keith, Kit Lewis Williams and husband Shane, Kari Lyn Lewis, Jennifer Weaver Campbell and Partner Sharon Campbell, Christina Weaver Bryner; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kylar Shaw, Luke Williams, Kaylyn Bryner, Marlie and Mason Campbell. She touched the lives of all that she encountered. She will be missed dearly by her children, extended family, close friends and her beloved little Poms, Tiffy and Tally.
