STONEVILLE Ruth Emma Shelton Dunlap, 84, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Morehead Nursing Center. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Stoneville. Interment will follow in the Stoneville Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Dunlap was born July 16, 1932, in Stokes County, to the late Walter Jack Shelton and Sadie Ann Shelton. She was a retired employee of Stoneville Elementary School, where she worked as a teacher's assistant, and was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Gray "Red" Dunlap; brother, Jackie "Bunker" Shelton and son-in-law, Aaron Manuel. Survivors include her daughters, Tabitha "Tabi" White (Mike) and Peggy Manuel; grandchildren, Michael Manuel and Lee Ann Manuel Hazelwood (James); and great-grandchildren, Tyler Manuel, Cory Manuel, and Montgomery Williams. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Friday, at the First Baptist Church of Stoneville and all other times at the home of Peggy Manuel. The family would like to express their thanks to the South Hall staff of Morehead Nursing Center. Memorials may be made to Rockingham County Animal Shelter, 250 Cherokee Camp Road, Wentworth, NC 27375. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
