Joan Jennings Obituary

Joan Marie Jennings
September 29, 1931 - October 2, 2024
Joan's parents were James and Evelyn Jennings from Brooklyn, NY. She was the second of four siblings. Jim Jennings and Dorothy Keaveney have gone on before her. She is survived by one sister, Mary Beth Kresnicka (Ron); two daughters, Joanne Napier and Theresa Feo; nine nieces and nephews; and seven great nieces and nephews.
Professionally, she worked as a Speech Therapist and a Speech and Education Evaluator in the NYC school system.
At age 50 she earned a second master's degree in social work and provided mental health services, charging only what clients could afford.
Joan's singular purpose in life was to be a conduit of God's love, her unmistakable source of BEING in this world. While her roots were Catholicism, her spiritual journey led her to Charismatic Renewal, Centering Prayer, the Enneagram, A Course in Miracles and A Course of Love. She became a valued teacher and facilitator of all three at Unity in the Valley.
Her self-described ministry for over 20 years was to write letters and send spiritual books to prisoners all over the country. She wanted to let them know of God's love and that their life had value.
The legacy of Joan's life was one of GENEROSITY. She gave her time, love, talents, and resources, to everyone without counting the cost.
The ripple effect of Joan's life goes far and wide. Joan touched so many lives and was a force for good, far beyond what any of us could imagine. Joan will be missed.
All are invited to a Celebration of Life Nov. 3, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Unity in the Valley, 17630 Camino de las Quintas, Sahuarita. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Unity in the Valley Church.

My sincerest condolences to Marybeth, Ron, Theresa and Joanne. Joan was the most generous, giving woman I have ever known, giving her time, love, support and money to anyone who needed it. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Our deepest condolences on the physical passing of your sister, Joan, Mary Beth and sister-in-law, Ron. Joan lived with joy, enthusiasm, generosity, hope, and most importantly with love for her fellow travelers. She used her gift of intellect well - to help in whatever way she could to make the lives of others better. Joan was a blessing to all who knew her. We celebrate with you her return to God.

Our deepest condolences to sister of Joan, Mary Beth Kresnicka (Ron) and all of Joan's friends and family. While I did not get to know this beatiful woman of God, her testimony to God's love and salvation is a legacy that has reached far and wide in the most beautiful way. May God's blessings be with you all and comfort you in the loss of your beautiful loved one. Sue Taylor-Lane & Rich Walton, Green Valley AZ
