How can I express what 46 years of marriage holds in a few sentences? A three-month whirlwind romance preceded by a warning for speeding (just a little). I'm still going too fast, try as he might to slow me down. It's a way of life. We took pride in the way we raised our two daughters and a son, and proudly boast of the nine grandchildren we have been blessed with as if we had everything to do with it! One of them stole our anniversary date, but we gladly relinquished it to celebrate her birthday! The days were filled with ups and downs, peaks and valleys, highs and lows. We must all remember that our days are numbered, and to make the very best we can of each one of them. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Words cannot express how heartbroken we are. I am going to miss your laughter and your love. The simple ways you took care of us. You were always so proud of your family and always bragged on each one of us every time we were together. Thank you for everything - your generous heart and spirit. You will be greatly missed.
