Christian BENGE Obituary
News Death Notice
BENGE, Christian Faith age 16 of Hamilton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 17, 2014. She was born in Cincinnati on August 1, 1998 to Jeff and Jean (England) Benge. Christian was an active member of the Eaton Road Full Gospel Church, where she sung in the church choir. She was a Sophmore at New Miami High School. Christian was loved by many, and was a living testimony that all things are possible through Jesus Christ. She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Jean Benge; brother, Jeffrey Benge; grandparents, Rev. Ernest and Betty Benge, and Eva Reid; Aunts and Uncles, Joetta(Roy) Street, Karena (Kevin) Barger, Julene (Danny) Adams, Kathy (Glen) Retherford, Marlena (Noah) Goodwin; and Jason (Cynthia) Benge; and many cousins, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Reid. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dave Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. I just learned of Christians death and just wanted to tell you how very sorry I am for your precious loss. I can't imagine but I do know that Gods strength is the only thing that could possibly get one through. My prayers are with all of you and I pray God wraps his arms around your family. I'm sure Christian is sitting next to the Father and is a beautiful addition to Heaven.

I heard your story on Inside Edition tonight and when I heard that Christian was born with a hole in her diaphragm that inhibited the growth of lungs I had a feeling she was born with CDH. I'm so very sorry to hear of the loss of your little girl. I am currently 7 months pregnant with our first child and we found out that he also has CDH. We are scared to death what this all entails, but hearing that Christian persevered through the challenges after being born gives my husband and me hope. Even though your daughter is no longer with you here on earth, please know that her story has touched the lives of people she has never met. My thoughts are with your family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Even though I didn't know Christian, she seemed like a very loving person who accepted everyone. My heart breaks seeing all the kids from New Miami hurting. They say it takes a village to raise a kid. I believe that is true bc in some way or form she was a part of everyone's family, from knowing her personally or just being your child's classmate. I am sure she made it to Heaven. RIP Christian, I am sure they will not let your legacy die.

So sorry for everyones loss. Not only did this precious family loose a beautiful young lady but the community and New Miami lost a awesome girl.
