Edith SWARTZ Obituary


News Death Notice

SWARTZ, Edith age 87, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 30, 2013 at her residence. She was born August 10, 1926 in Olympia, Kentucky and moved to Middletown in 1952. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, cross stitching and crocheting. Edith was a member of the Truth Tabernacle, the Ladies Auxiliary and the choir at the church. Preceding her in death were her parents, Thornton and Martha (Staton) Highley; her husband, Talmadge B. Swartz in 2002; great grandson, Zachary Thacker; granddaughter, Terri Forster; and eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by five children, Fronda Sivis, husband James, Brenda Smith, Paulette Hollar, husband Buddy, Larry Swartz, wife Michele, and Janet Banks, husband John; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 27 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Truth Tabernacle, 6879 Hamilton-Middletown Road, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Hidlebaugh officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, 5940 Long Meadow Dr., Franklin, Ohio 45005. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
