News Death Notice

STERRETT, Robert Spence 83, formerly of Lebanon, OH died Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Born July 9, 1927 in Pleasant Ridge, OH to Will Wise and Ruth Elizabeth (Hoffman) Sterrett, he graduated from Norwood High School, and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati in 1952. He married Clara LaVine Hinkel on August 6, 1949 in Norwood, Ohio. He was a US Army veteran, a member of the Pleasant Ridge Masonic Lodge, Lebanon Presbyterian Church, and several professional associations. Bob retired in 1988 after a 35 year career as a highly respected executive at Matheson Gas Products. Family and fishing were the joy of Bob's life. Preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Elizabeth Anne Sterrett, brothers Will and Frank Peter, and sisters Helen and Dorothy, he is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, Clara (Hinkel) Sterrett, one son, Robert J. Sterrett, two daughters, Nancy Barba and Jennifer O'Neill, one sister, Ruth Geers, seven grandchildren (Matthew, Patrick, Sarah, Stephen, Emily, Owen and Mary) and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Saturday March 5 at 2:00 pm at Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
