News Death Notice
DILLARD, Samuel O. Of Fairfield passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 at University Hospital of Cincinnati. He was born May 5, 1954 in Shreveport, LA, the son of Albert and Callie (Edwards) Dillard, Sr. On July 5, 2003 Samuel married Lianne Kelly in Fairfield. He was a devoted teacher and coach at Cincinnati Christian Schools and a member of Tri-County Assembly. Samuel leaves behind his loving wife, Lianne Dillard; daughters, Callie and Zipporah Dillard; mother, Callie Dillard; 5 sisters; 2 brothers.; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and 2 sisters. Visitation will be 2 p.m. - until time of service (3 p.m.), Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Tri-County Assembly, 7350 Dixie Hwy., Fairfield, OH 45014. Memorials may be made to Tri-County Assembly with notation for Sam Dillard Memorial Fund, 7350 Dixie Hwy., Fairfield, OH 45014. The family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com

Mr. Dillard's heart for people, Christ-like attitude, direction and discipline has helped make me into the man I am today. I still remember those days in push up position or in health class when I had to pay attention as others read because we had to read one sentence at a time. Not to mention the times we got a good laugh for the craziest of things. I also remember those one-on-one talks about life and the importance of God in my life, even if some of those came after I was disciplined for some foolish actions. He has taught me great things in all aspects of life. His impact on people is vast and wide and he is a blessing to all. Heaven has just received a wonderful coach and friend. My thoughts, prayers, and heart go out to his family and all the people he has impacted. We will miss you sir!

Our love and prayers go to Lianne and girls. Our first accquaintance with Sam was at Cincinnati Christian many years ago. We have always respected and appreciated Sam and his dedication to God first and to the students of CCHS.
