Joe Harp Obituary

Joe Samuel Harp, age 81, passed away May 3, 2024, in Springfield, MO. Joe was born in Yardell, AR, to Ira Harp and Veatrice (Harris) Harp on August 1, 1942.

Joe married Linda (Gasaway) Harp on August 9, 1968. They had two children, Cindy and Jeff.

Joe's parents, Ira and Veatrice; three sisters, Rita, Dianne Brown, and Jan Harp; and his four half-siblings preceded him in death.

Joe is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; his daughter, Cindy; his son, Jeff; his sisters, Nora Hefley and Lela Garrison, both of Harrison, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

Joe was an over-the-road truck driver for over forty years. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and reading. He was an amazing story teller, always expressive and immersive. He loved spending time with family and his dogs.

A service will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Joe was the kindest sweetest man I've had the privilege to know. He's up there with Vernon and they're both fishing now. He will be missed
