David Boisvert Obituary

David (Dave) Earl Boisvert, 65, of Newington beloved husband of Nanci (Ericson) Boisvert for 40 wonderful years, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, December 4, 2015. Dave was born in Hartford to the late Earl and Juliette (Jolivet) Boisvert. Dave and Nanci were married in 1975 at St. Mary Church in Newington. Dave worked for 35 years for the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC), and spent the last 10 years working for the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch before recently retiring in October of this year. Dave served his country in the National Guard Air Force. Dave was greatly loved by everyone who knew him, and was known by all for his friendly, compassionate and warm personality. He used every opportunity he could to play a practical joke or use his quick wit to get a smile. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, UCONN Huskies, and sci-fi movies. More than anything, Dave loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Trips to Cape Cod with his family during the summer months were always a highlight that he cherished. He enjoyed coaching his kids on youth league soccer teams as well as watching his children and now grandchildren participate in anything from soccer games to dance recitals. Besides his devoted wife Nanci, Dave leaves behind his two daughters, Nicole (Boisvert) Meissner and his son-in-law John, of Glastonbury, Tara (Boisvert) Serfass and her husband Joseph, of Wethersfield, and his son, Eric Boisvert of Somers, CT. Dave was a proud grandfather "Grampy" of his four grandchildren, Robbie and Gracie Meissner, Ava and Clara Serfass, he also leaves his sister Barbara Frascatore and her husband Joe, of Waterbury, brother -in-law, Richard Donlin, mother-in-law, Jeanne Ericson, sisters-in-law, Polly Evans, Cindy Gladu and her husband Jay, brothers-in-law, Kevin Ericson and longtime girlfriend Tammy Langevin, Greg Ericson and his wife Karen, Jeff Ericson and his wife Donna, and Bill Ericson as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Dave is predeceased by his sister Susan (Boisvert) Donlin, his brother Dennis Boisvert, his niece, Kerrie Donlin, brother-in-law, Stephen Ericson and his father-in-law, Robert Ericson. Funeral Services for Dave will begin on Thursday, December 10, at 9:15 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave, Newington, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, 626 Willard Ave, Newington. Dear Nancy,

My sincere sympathy to you and your family. While visiting my husband's (Robert Maliszewski)grave site at West Meadow Cemetery, I noticed Dave's grave in the next row to Bob. My husband worked at the MDC for almost 35 years and always would mention that he ran into Dave around town. Bob always enjoyed talking with Dave. I know how difficult it is losing your husband (Bob passed away last March and my memories ease the pain somewhat and knowing that he's still with me as my special guardian angel just like Dave is yours. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Boisvert, so sorry to hear about your loss. Dave was a great man and will be missed greatly. He always had a kind word to say and a joke to tell to put a smile on your face. I am saddened that the Good Lord called his angel home but I know Dave will be smiling down on us all telling someone up there about his family who he adored. Our prayers are with you.
