What a wonderful blind date you were! I still have mementos from your letters and warm memories of our times in Rhode Island and Puerto Rico during 1967 and 1968. I'm so glad you are in God's warm embrace.

I served briefly with Pete on the USS Basilone, DD824 in the summer of 1967. I was new to the Engineering department and unfortunately did not have an opportunity to work with him before he left the ship in Spain. I can attest however, that he was well respected by the Ship’s Captain along with his fellow officers and the ship crewmen.
