Elizabeth Barcomb

1935 - 2017

On March 17, 2017 heaven received another angel - Elizabeth Barcomb. She was born on October 10, 1935 in Wakefield, RI, daughter of Jules & Rita Doane Tucker. In July, 1955 she married the love of her life, Frederick Barcomb. She worked for Roslyn Mfg for 35 yrs & patented many ribbon designs. She worked for East Catholic High School for 10 yrs where all students loved being around her. Betty was extremely active in her favorite church, St Georges in Bolton; she was always available to help anyone in need. She served as a Girl Scout & Cub Scout Leader, as well as Pres of the Bolton PTO Betty's spirit was infectious; everyone loved being part of her life. She loved traveling, playing golf with her girlfriends; tending to her beautiful flower gardens, taking long walks with her dog, Rosie, & was always there to take care of her precious family. Betty is survived by her best friend & husband of 61 years, Frederick Barcomb; daughter Michelle "Mikey" Badstuebner & her husband Donald; son James Barcomb & his long-time partner Barbara Kratochvil; four grandchildren-Joseph Barcomb, Jennifer Ziemba & her husband Tom, Caryn & Kyle Badstuebner & four great-granddaughters-Hailey & Melanie Ziemba and Kassie & Adriana Barcomb. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11 am at St George Episcopal Church, 1150 Boston Turnpike (Rt 44), Bolton, CT 06043. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Betty's beloved church, St. Georges.
