Elizabeth Butwich Obituary

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Butwich, 93, of Ellington beloved wife of 41 years to Wayne Butwich, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2023, with her family by her side at Evergreen Health Care Center. Elizabeth was born and raised in Plattsburgh, NY; the daughter of the late John and Edna (Terrier) Douglas. She had a very caring spirit which led her to studying to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Betty spent many years caring for patients at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Butwich of Ellington; her sons, Richard Barnaby and his wife Claudia of Warrington, PA and Rodney Barnaby and his wife Phyllis of NC; 2 grandchildren: Richard E. Barnaby and Melissa Barnaby. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Parent.

All are invited to her calling hours on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon, CT 06066. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 4, at noon in Franklin Memorial Park, Franklin, NJ. For online expressions of sympathy please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.

Betty, you were a good friend. We had a lot of good times over the last 40 years. She was also a good hearted and compassionate person.
Betty loved animals and angels. You are now at peace my friend with all your angels around you!
