My father Dominick Giantonio was a POW with Mr. Roseen during the war. We lived in Avon and I remember visiting Mr. Roseen at his home and he was very kind to me and I remember him as a very nice man. I have a large collection of items from the POW,s and I perpetuate there memory through displays in museums and schools. I still have in my collection a photo of Mr. Roseen in his uniform which he gave me when I was a child and display it with his name for people to remember the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor and the experiences they went through as prisoners of the Japanese. The country has lost a great patriot. Daniel Giantonio a survivors son!

I was saddened to learn of Mr. Roseen's passing. My father and he were friends as POW's and long after the war.

Craig,
I have not seen you since you were little, but wanted to say how sorry I am that I was not able to attend your Dad's funeral. Over the years through your father and my mom I came to learn the deep individual that he was. My husband Dan enjoyed and admired him very much also. He always looked forward to visiting with him and discussing their military experiences. Even though Dan served in Vietnam his experiences paled in comparison to what your Dad went through and Dan had the utmost admiration for him. He was a true hero and patriot in every sense of the word. He will be sorely missed. Your cousin, Donna

An American Hero in the true sense of the word. Thank you Roseen family for sharing your dear Dad's story. May he now rest in peace, and may he be met at the gates by the honor guard in dress blues.

My condolences to the surviving family of M/Sgt Roseen...I submit these comments as a stranger..I didn't know him BUT I stand in complete admiration to the legacy of his life...I was but a 6 year old boy when he marched the Bataan death march...I hope you are just soo proud of him, as our country and our people owe to him, and the others of his 'greatest generation' the deepest debt of gratitude for the fact that we still live in the freedom they gave up their lives to achieve for us- that is his legacy... I salute him and just had to comment so that ALL will honor him and what he achieved.. My sympathy's... and recognition.. Bill Knapp
