Mrs Sheremeta was an amazing friend to my mother Joan McDermott. They knew each other growing up in Maine and both ended up in Connecticut. They both loved scrabble and long visits. In kindergarten I walked to and from school. One day in 1968 I was approached by lady in a car with the window down offering me a ride home. I wouldn't get in the car with her even though she was insistent that it would be ok with my mother. Imagine my reaction when I got home and found "this lady" playing scrabble with mom at the kitchen table. I am glad they are now together at peace.
