James Aldi Obituary

James C. Aldi, 84, of Southington, died Thursday, (September 6, 2001) at Bradley Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Lois (Laribee) Aldi. Born in Southington, son of the late Angelo and Anna Marie (Angelillo) Aldi. Mr. Aldi was employed at Peck, Stowe & Wilcox. He had been the owner of James C. Aldi Inc. since 1952, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Exchange Club and the Calender House. Jim also played semi-pro football during the 1940's and 1950's. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister, Louise Vecchiolla of Sudbury, MA; and several nieces and nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Albert, Frank and Amedeo Aldi; and his sisters, Jenny Dudley and Anna Morelli. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, 9:15 a.m., from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. for a mass. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington, CT 06489.
