Jason Schroder Obituary

Jason Addison Schroder, 53, of Simsbury, passed away suddenly on September 11, 2021. Jason was the beloved husband of almost 21 years to his wife, Angela (Rehm), and devoted father to Jonas, Caroline and Charlotte and dogs Mack and Fritz. Jason, born October 11, 1967, in Hartford to the late Alan Schroder and late Irene Schroder (Buyvitt), was a graduate of Xavier High School '86, Williams College '90, and Cornell Law School '98. Jason was a brilliant attorney who spent his entire legal career with United Technologies Corporation. Jason was a diehard Saints fan and his family will forever remember our wonderful trip to see Drew Brees and the Saints play in the Superdome. Jason was all about experiences, whether it be travel, fine dining, literature, comedy shows, concerts or sporting events. Jason shared his love of the experience with his children and enjoyed taking his young daughters to see Taylor Swift and his son to see Bayern Munich play in Germany. Jason appreciated simple times with his family, as well. His family will dearly miss Jason's joy for apple picking, exotic and comfort cooking for the family and time on the beach. Jason's friends from all stages of life and all over the world will remember his incredibly sharp wit, intelligence, laugh and kind and generous spirit. We are so blessed that Jason passed many of these attributes on to his children. In addition to his wife, children and dogs, Jason is survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Renee Rehm, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joshua and Sarah-Beth Rehm and nieces Tehya Stephens and Briityn Rehm. Zachariah Embler, Jason's only nephew, tragically passed away a week after Jason. Jason is also survived by many dear friends, too numerous to mention, and several aunts and uncles and many cousins. Friends of Jason and of his family are welcome to help celebrate his life Monday, October 18 from 12 noon to 2 pm at the North Barn Pavilion at Holcomb Farm 113 Simsbury Rd. West Granby, CT. Donations may be made in Jason's memory to the Connecticut Humane Society www.cthumane.org and Doctors Without Borders www.doctorswithoutborders.org. Jason was one of a special few friends I had outside of sports in college and I cannot imagine my time there without his larger than life presence. My deepest condolences to those who knew him longer and better.

Angela, Jonas, Caroline & Charlotte, my deepest sympathy and condolences go out to you. I worked with your father at UTC and I have to say he was a GREAT guy, as I'm sure you know. I will always remember his intellectual horsepower, sharp wit and wonderful smile. Everyone loved Jason and he will be sorely missed. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that he is always with you even though you may not know it. I am very sorry for your loss.

My condolences to Jason's family. I worked with him and knew him well - a wonderful, kind, genuine and authentic person who also was a brilliant lawyer and lover of Churchillian prose which I so often enjoyed him referencing. May God keep him in peace.
