BIANCO, Joseph F. Joseph F. Bianco, 86, of Windsor, husband of Eduarda (Soares) Bianco, died Monday, (March 6, 2006) at a local convalescent home. Born in Medford, MA, son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Brailey) Bianco, he lived in Windsor since 1970. He received his B.S. from Tufts University and pursued advanced studies in engineering and physics from MIT and Stanford. His military service began in the Field Artillery and continued in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and retired in 1980 with the rank of Major. He was a founder and CEO of Wakefield Engineering, Inc. and was involved in the design and development of a wide variety of complex equipment associated with air navigation. He was also the manager of RCA Burlington, Missile Electronics, and had been employed by Kodak in Rochester, NY. He continued for many years as a consultant to the electronics and aviation industry and retired from Hi G in Windsor Locks in 1977. He held 14 patents in electronics, mechanics and instrumentation. Mr. Bianco was an avid reader, a private pilot, and enjoyed sailing. He was a former member of Windsor Lodge # 2060 BPOE. Beside his wife, Eduarda, whom he married in 1974; he leaves a son, Joseph E. Bianco of Windsor; two daughters, Nancy and her husband, Robert Lesco of Portsmouth, RI and Candy Bianco of North Attleboro, MA; a step daughter, Lisa and her husband, Alan Thomason of Stafford, VA; a sister, Louise Marques of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren, Andrew, Whitney and Cory Krozier, John and Joelle Quartarone, Christina Olsen, and Tyler, Brittany and Alyssa Thomason. He was predeceased by a daughter, Helen Olsen. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 11, 11:30 a.m., in the Chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. Burial will be in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full Military Honors. His family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 5-8 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home.
