Joseph Tymkow Obituary

Joseph Tymkow IV, 34, passed away peacefully at home on Monday August 26, 2019. Joseph was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2005. He has spent his adult life in a courageous battle with brain cancer, which progressed to a glioblastoma in December 2017. Joseph graduated from East Granby High School in 2003 and attended New England Institute of Technology in RI for one year. He later obtained a certificate for Pharmacy Technician at a local school. He was proud of that accomplishment that he proved to himself he could pass the exam despite his illness. Joseph was a painter by trade and worked for Pro Park America through 2016. He was an avid fisherman, all seasons of the year, and will be remembered for his gift of humor and wit by those who knew and loved him. Joseph also had a big heart; he was always there to help others less fortunate than himself. He met people wherever he went. During his work with Pro Park he helped many fellow cancer patients at St. Francis Hospital by lending moral support and laughter. He leaves behind his parents Joseph Tymkow III of Windsor and Elizabeth Moringiello of Granby, his beloved brothers Christopher and Steven Tymkow of Windsor, his grandmother Carolyn Tymkow, grandfather Donald Moringiello, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Jake and Uncle Jim and several cousins. The family wishes to extend a sincere Thank You to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital. His family will receive friends Thursday August 29, 2019 from 5-8 PM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 30, 2019, at 10 AM at St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Gabriel's Church, 379 Broad Street, Windsor. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor. in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the American Brain Tumor Association, abta.org. To the Tymkow family, my family and I are so sorry to learn of Joe's passing. He always had a smile on his face and showed such courage in face of his health problems. He was always such a gentleman and occasionally I would run into Joe at church and we often had such nice conversations. May he rest in peace. God bless you all during this difficult time, Artie Maglieri and family.
