Kitty Warren Obituary

Kitty Lee (Collin) Warren, age 65, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday October 30th surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. She attended Coginchaug Regional High School (Class of 1975) after which she worked at Aetna Insurance Company until 1996. Kitty was a determined and caring person. With the birth of her second child, she became a licensed home daycare provider, "Circle of Friends", which she genuinely enjoyed for five years. She then returned to school in order to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse; a goal she had from a very young age. In 2005, she received her Registered Nursing pin after graduating from Capitol Community College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Having found her passion, she worked for one year at Summerville Assisted Living in South Windsor and then at Kids Station Pediatrics in Manchester for another year. Kitty enjoyed working with children so much that she then became an elementary school nurse employed by Tolland Public Schools for four years and then Stafford Public Schools for an additional five years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family at the Cape in Brewster, MA, during her daughters' summer breaks from school. As the girls grew older, they then found a beautiful spot in Murrells Inlet, SC, where she never tired of going to Huntington Beach State Park and Brookgreen Gardens. Kitty loved nature and enjoyed capturing it in her photography to share with family and friends. She would take pictures of the water birds along the causeway, flowers, and butterflies, stating that there was just so much beauty in nature. Born April 28, 1957 in Springfield, VT, to Robert B. Collin and the late Priscilla M. (Ward) Collin, she is survived by her beloved husband, James C. Warren of 28 years, daughter Jessica and her husband Ryan Ammon of Bethlehem, CT, and daughter Carrie Warren of South Windsor, CT; sister Cathy Trevino of South Carolina, and brother Brett Collin and his wife Patricia of Tennessee; brother-in-law Gary Warren and his wife Debra of California; and brother-in-law Thomas Warren and his wife Sandra of Middletown, CT. She leaves nephews Robert and Christopher Trevino of SC, niece Brittany Popeleski and her husband Luke and their daughter Evelyn of Somers, CT; nephew Samuel Collin and his wife Emily of Stafford, CT, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a great-great-nephew of California. She is also survived by one of her greatest blessings, her grandson, Lucas Daniel Ammon. Kitty's family would like to extend its appreciation to Dr. DeFusco, Dr. Rutter, Dr. Pope, the HHC Manchester Infusion Center, Patricia Collin, and the nurses and staff of Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice Care for their professionalism, loving compassion, and support. Kitty's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday November 8th, between 4pm to 7pm at Samsel & Carmon, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, CT. A celebration of life/burial will be held at a later date for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to TNBC Foundation, P.O. Box 204, Norwood, NJ 07648. https://tnbcfoundation.org/support-us/donate

I worked with KItty at The Aetna way back when. I also knew she met her husband Jim there. Kitty, Lisa and I used to have lunch together in the cafeteria quite often. She always had a sunny personality. My sincere condolences to Jim and the rest of her family.
