Marianne SCULLY Obituary

SCULLY, Marianne Marianne Scully, 66, of Thomaston, died January 28, 2010 while wintering in Florida. She was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Scully, Sr. Marianne was born on March 15, 1943 to the late Helen and Michael Diorio of Waterbury. She graduated from Crosby High School and Kavula School of Hair Dressing. Marianne devoted her life to raising her family and caring for anyone who needed a friend. She was an avid gardener creating beautiful landscapes and rock gardens. Marianne was a member of St. Peter's-Trinity Episcopal Church in Thomaston. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Marianne was a devoted wife to her husband of forty-four years, a loving mother and a caring friend. She leaves two sons and their wives, Thomas J. Scully, Jr. and Lisa of Northfield, Jeremiah J. Scully and Keleigh of Thomaston, two daughters and their husbands, Catherine and John Morelli of Southington, Annmarie and Paul Welton of Thomaston, ten beautiful grandchildren, Gregory and Rachel Scully, Amber, Melissa and Sabrina Morelli, Michaela and Sarah Scully, Abigail Armstrong, Brendan and Conor Welton. A sister Catherine Miller and her husband Robert of Prospect and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Michael Diorio and Robert Diorio. Family and friends may gather at Lyons Funeral Home on Wednesday February 3, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. Peter's-Trinity Episcopal Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston in the Spring. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Peter's-Trinity Episcopal Church, 160 Main Street, Thomaston 06787 or to the Thomaston Volunteer Fire Department, 245 South Main Street, Thomaston, CT 06787. Kathy, my sorrow goes out to you and your family, my husband died at this young age also, it seems so unfair, try to be strong for your kids and husband.
