Phyllis Gaitor Obituary

Phyllis May "Dilly" Gaitor, 77, of West Hartford, transitioned peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday March 5, 2021. Phyllis leaves behind her children, Dale Hume-Rimai and Carlton Hume and his wife Barbara Hume; sisters, Bernice Cooper and her husband Herbert, Gertrude Francis-Radway and her husband Richard, and Daphney Francis; brother, Frankford Francis and his wife Valerie Francis; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ena Francis and Irene Francis; and her son-in-law, Dr. Mervyn Rimai. Her family will receive friends on Friday, March 26, 10-11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Due to the COVID pandemic, a celebration of Phyllis's life will be held at a later date. Phyllis was a co-founder of Dilly's Café, and in memory of her support of this business, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dilly's Café, 1554 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117. I am sadden to home going of my dear friend, we met in welding class many year ago, from that we went to work together at Shepard Steel. She was a kind and upbeat lady with a jolly laugh. Family you have my prayers. Be blessed.
