Ricardo Quental Obituary

Ricardo "Rick" Quental, Sr., 68, the beloved husband of Leona "Lee" (Santos) Quental, died Sunday, (September 30, 2001) at Victorian Heights. Born in Somerset, MA, the son of the late Manuel and Mary Quental, he had lived in CT for 44 years. Rick was the former manager of General Building, Kitchen and Bath Supply and was an active member of St. Bartholomew's Church, Manchester. He served on the parish council, taught CCD and ran the Mary Mother of Faith charismatic prayer group for 15 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by five children and their spouses, Pamela Ann Bevan and her husband, Chuck of FL, Ursula DiNatale of PA, Ricardo, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of East Hartford, Sean A. and his wife, Nicole of Glastonbury, and Christopher Giles and his wife, Liz of Glastonbury; 12 grandchildren, Frank Joseph, Ricardo Anthony and Vincent Michael DiNatale, Seana Marilee, Lindsea Marie, Avalon Lisa, Christina Marie, Savannah Antoinette, Cassandra Juliet, Alexandra Elizabeth, Hanna Rebecca and Ricardo, III Quental; a person of great support, Linda Quental; and two sisters, Joyce Astle and Carol Stowe of CA. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, with burial in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rick's family requests memorial donations be made to either Jefferson House, 144 Main St., East Hartford, CT 06108; Victorian Heights, 349 Bidwell St., Manchester, CT 06040; or Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, Ricardo Quental Memorial Library Fund, 5 S.E. 17th St., Ocala, FL 34471.
