Robert Donaldson Obituary

DONALDSON, Robert Edward Robert Edward Donaldson, 67, of Bosworth Road, Sandisfield, MA. died Thursday, (April 16, 2009) peacefully at home with his wife, Connie at his side. Born in Munson, MA., son of Robert E. Donaldson and Vivian Choinard Donaldson, he graduated from Springfield Tech High School, 1961 and Westfield State College, 1970. He was a decorated war veteran from 1963-1965 serving as a Military Policeman and Helicopter Door gunner. He was decorated for heroism including: Air Medal (Heroism), Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14), 1st Oak Leaf Cluster with V (Valor) 3 O/S Bars and Vietnam Service Medal. He lived in the Berkshires for 40 years and worked as a Realtor, the past 25 years as owner/Broker of Misty Mountain Realty with his business partner and wife, Connie. Bob served as Selectman, Assessor and Health Agent for Tolland, MA. and Assessor for Sandisfield, MA. He leaves his loving wife, Connie Canty-Donaldson; two sisters, Joan Jarrell of Ohio and Roberta Chambers of Ohio, many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; grand-nieces and grand-nephews and was predeceased in 1976 by his beloved six year old daughter, Amy. Funeral Notice: Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, May 2, 11 a.m. at New Marlborough Meeting House on Route 57, New Marlborough, MA. followed by a graveside ceremony at Sandisfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Robert E. Donaldson to AMVETS, Post 77, PO Box 587, Otis, MA 01253.
