Stephen Pelletier Obituary

Stephen T. Pelletier, 66 of Hartford passed away unexpectedly early on the morning of February 3. He was born in East Granby to the late L. Alger Pelletier and Mary Pelletier. He attended East Granby schools, graduating in 1973. He attended technical school studying auto repair and was employed in Hartford for many years as an auto mechanic. He was subsequently self employed as a "Jack of all trades" along with his longtime friend and co-worker Kevin Lee. Steve was involved in numerous real estate transactions over the years, buying and selling properties in the greater Hartford area. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help others. He loved music and had a passion for cooking always trying new recipes and often sharing his creations with friends. He had a soft spot for the feral cats in his neighborhood and was known to care for and feed them on a regular basis. He leaves behind his mother Mary Pelletier of East Granby; his sister Denise Chamberlain and husband Scott of Granby; his sister Kathy Pelletier and husband Bob Winot of Broad Brook; his brother David Pelletier and wife Sue of Wilsons, VA; his brother Tom Pelletier of Granby along with a niece and several nephews and a host of acquaintances. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Francis Hospital who cared for him over the years. A special thanks goes to his loyal friend Kevin who stood by Steve through thick and thin. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave in Bloomfield on Friday, February 12 at 11:00 am. Burial and a memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Donations may be made in Steve's name to The House of Bread, 1453 Main St, Hartford, CT 06120; Newington Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111 or East Granby Public Library, 24 Center St., East Granby, CT 06026.

We were acquainted with Stephen over the years. He dated my sister ( Lisa Hanson [Maiden name] ) of West Hartford years ago. We enjoyed seeing him several times and met him at many of Lisa's social events. Sadly, Lisa too has already passed on a few years ago.

Stephen was a gentleman, and he even attended Lisa's memorial service.
We remember Stephen as a kind man and were saddened to hear of his passing.

We pray for all of his family to have God bless and keep them in His Loving care.
