Thomas Nolan Obituary

Thomas F. Nolan, Jr., 84, of Fairview St., Portland, husband of the late N. Marion (Murnane) Nolan, died Monday, (May 6, 2002) at the Middlesex Hospital. Born in Middletown, May 2, 1918, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Frances (Bride) Nolan, Sr. and had lived in Portland for all his life. Before retiring in 1977, Mr. Nolan was employed with Hamilton Standard for 35 years. He was a communicant of the Church of St. Mary, Portland. Life time member of Knights of Columbus, and member of the Hamilton Standard Retirement Club. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin S. and Judith Nolan of Cromwell; a daughter, Noreen M. Nolan of Cromwell; two grandchildren, Shelly and Kasey Nolan, both of Cromwell; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Brian J. Nolan; and a brother, William J. Nolan, Sr. Funeral services will be held Friday, 9:30 a.m. from the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary, Portland. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Portland. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Middlesex Weiss Hospice Unit, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457 or Church of St. Mary Memorial Fund, 51 Freestone Ave., Portland, CT 06480.
