It is Mother's Day 2023, and I think about Paige and the chapter in Gibran's wonderful book entitled "On Children," which she gave me. It should be read and reread throughout Life.

I met Paige in the SAE house at UCLA where she had come for a party; and we dated in Montecito before I went to law school at Berkeley and then to the Pentagon and U.S. Senate.
The last time I saw her was when I was finishing at UCLA and living on the beach at Malibu. She brought me a copy of Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet," which I have always treasured.
Her parents were a lovely, loving couple, whom I got to know when I would come from Malibu to see her at their home in Montecito.
I am pleased that she found happiness; and on some level, I will always love her. She was very special.
