Eliud Arrazate

1935 - 2021

Funeral Services for Eliud Arrazate, longtime resident of Conroe, Texas will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 am at Mims Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Chaddick officiating. Interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Conroe Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held at Mims Baptist Church on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm.

Eliud was born on September 10, 1935 in Saltillo, Mexico to Benjamin Arrazate Barrios and Jesusita Davila de Arrazate. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021, in The Woodlands, Texas at the age of 86.

Eliud came to the United States in 1956 and attended LeTourneau Technical Institute, now LeTourneau University, in Longview, Texas. Upon graduation Eliud entered the field of oil and gas and ultimately embarked on a long career with Exxon. He held numerous positions and was an expert at teaching young engineers how to get oil out of the ground. Eliud retired from Exxon in 1996. Upon his retirement he worked as an interpreter in the Montgomery County court system for numerous judges and lawyers. All through his career he enjoyed many things but most importantly having the love of his life, Vetra Arrazate, by his side taking many adventures together, playing golf and above all else their church and church family was very important to them. Eliud made many friends over the years and was awarded a Lifetime Membership in the Conroe Noon Lions Club. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand for anyone that needed it. Eliud was a devoted father, husband and most of all a faithful servant to the lord. One other accomplishment that he was very proud of was becoming a United States Citizen in 2007. He will be greatly missed but we will all carry the memories we have of him for many years to come.

Eliud was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Russell Ward and Kenny Ward; daughter-in-law Joanie Ward and his beloved wife, Vetra Arrazate.

Eliud is survived by his loving family: sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Christi Ward of Houston, Frank and Deborah Arrazate of Conroe, Nathan and Jenifer Arrazate of Conroe; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebekah and Michael Bowshot of Tyler, and Elizabeth and Jonathan Randolph of Kingwood; daughter-in-law, Robbie Ward of Willis; numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many caring friends also survive.

Pallbearers: Frank Arrazate, Nathan Arrazate, Doug Ward, Danny Ward, Andrew Arrazate, Gaddiel Jauregui.
