Carl E. Hendrix
Jan. 12, 1941 - July 30, 2023
Carl E. Hendrix, 82, born to Clarence E. Hendrix, and Joe Wina Gordon, on January 12, 1941, in Rotan, TX, departed on July 30, 2023, to be with the Lord, and join his wife, Frances A. Lastovica, of 32 years, and family who preceded him in death.
Carl will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Betty Jane Warren; sons: Bob (Masie) and Max (Kimla); step-children: Stephen Keefer (Ivy Nelson-Keefer), R.T. Sauer, and Cynthia Honor (Bruce). Carl was blessed with 44 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl graduated from Hobbs High School in Rotan, TX. He had an extensive military career for 36 years in the Army, Army Reserves and National Guards, retiring as a CO4 pilot. You will see one of the helicopters he flew parked on a pole on the corner of Cedar and Washington, at the I-15 194 exit in Helena, MT. He was a cotton farmer in Rotan, worked for U-Haul and an armed security guard at the Federal building, downtown Helena. His hobbies included HAM Radio operator and flying remote airplanes with the "Flying Tigers" of Helena.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Rheta Thomson; and son, Barry Hendrix.
A memorial service celebrating Carl's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison.

Carl was a very sweet and funny person he had so much compassion for everyone around him in the time I got to know him I got very close to him“ he was always there to talk if I was having a bad day, I will Always cherish July 03,2023 as that was the last day I was able to visit him and I made sure I gave him a big hug,
