DARYL THOMAS SMOOT, 42, of South Point, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Ky. He was born September 29, 1971, in Huntington, W.Va. He is survived by his loving wife Melissa Smoot; his parents Donald and Sandra Smoot; one brother, Trent (Amanda) Smoot; one sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Marcus Babbitt; daughters and son-in-law Erika and Allen Maynard, Jessica Smoot, Ryleigh Smoot and Katie Smoot; step-children Chelsea Rickard, Haley Rickard and Brady Rickard; four nieces and nephews with one special nephew, Austin Smoot; a host of cousins, friends and co-workers; and maternal grandmother Geraldine Steinbrecher. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Daryle Steinbrecher and paternal grandparents Pat and Louise Smoot. He was a member of Solida Baptist Church, a member of Teamster Local #175 and 1989 South Point High School graduate. The family extends a special thank you to the union workers for their love and support. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Kenny Estep. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va. A reception will follow the burial at Abundant Life Baptist Church, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio.
