STEPHEN ALLEN LeGRAND, 70 of Huntington, passed away on July 9, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Honoring his wishes, Steve will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be Sunday, July 21, 2024, with visitation at 1 p.m. and services at 2 p.m. at Beard Mortuary.
Steve was born September 1, 1953, to the late Asa A. LeGrand Jr. and Mary Ellen Blevins LeGrand. He is survived by his brother, Rodney LeGrand (Lisa); uncle Jerry Blevins; niece Jessy Rich (Shay); nephew Eric Mercer; great-nieces, Brianna, Olive and Indie; and a host of cousins who loved him very much, Conn Sharp, Jr., Shannon Krause, J.B. Blevins, Chris Blevins, Mike Ball, Mike Browning, Randy Clark, Teresa "Terry" Bailey and Beryle Queen.
Steve retired from State Electric Supply after 40 years of service. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, walking daily, movies, and attending local music events. His love and knowledge of music was wonderful and endless. He recently said that his lifelong dream was fulfilled when he got to play the drums with his church (Celebration Church) band. Steve was also an avid reader who went to the Public Library weekly. His favorite reads were biographies of historical figures and sports legends. He loved NASCAR racing and NFL football with the Cincinnati Bengals being one of his favorite teams.
Steve was a quiet man who was a very giving, kind and caring, with a wonderful sense of humor. He was such a wonderful part of our family and all the lives he touched. He will be sorely missed by all.
The family would like to thank Steve's church family from Celebration Church, friends from State Electric Supply, and his lifelong friends for their outpouring of love and support during his last few weeks. He cherished and loved all of you.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House and/or Celebration Church, 610 19th Street W., Huntington, WV 25704. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.beardmortuary.com.

Those of us who drink a cup of coffee every morning 6-7:00 AM
at Starbucks knew and loved Steve . He was such a sweet addition to our chats and he did have an impressive knowledge of bands and music not to mention many other subjects. He will be missed .We will lift a cup to his memory.
