Hannah E. Claghorn

April 17, 2006 - June 19, 2025

Hannah E. Claghorn, 19, of Mt. Zion, Ill., passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL, 62565 with Bishop Brent Sampson and Stake President Robert Martinez officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, Ill. Memorials may be given to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Decatur, Ill., or Scovil Zoo in Decatur, Ill.

Hannah was born on April 17, 2006, in Mattoon, Ill., the daughter of Raymond Harrison and Sara Joanne (Baird) Claghorn. She graduated from Mt. Zion High School in the Class of 2024 and was currently enrolled in the nursing program at Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL. Hannah was a member of the track team in high school and also in college. Hannah loved animals, especially horses. Her hobbies included playing games online, reading books, and collecting toys. Hannah was employed by Dollar General in Mt. Zion, Ill. and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Decatur, Ill.

Hannah is survived by her parents, Raymond and Sara Claghorn; sister, Sonja Claghorn of Mt. Zion, Ill.; brothers, Gavin Williams-Ochoa (Lilly) of Tampa, Fla., and David Claghorn of Mt. Zion, Ill.; special niece, Lilliana Williams-Ochoa of Tampa, Fla.; boyfriend, Christian Harshman of Dixon, Ill.; maternal grandparents, Randy and Marcy Baird of Shelbyville, Ill.; paternal grandmother, Jeanie Claghorn of Clearfield, Utah; great-grandmother, Roma Baird of Glen Carbon, Ill.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, David Claghorn; maternal great-grandparents, William Baird, Venedea "Martha" Baird Wallace and James and Ruby Pickett; paternal great-grandparents, James and Florence Warren, Richard and Marguerite Claghorn, and Alice Godwin.
