Robert Wilson Obituary

DEWITT - Robert D. Wilson, 77, of Dewitt, died at 12:00 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 20, 2011) in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. the Rev. Mary Louise Haxton and the Rev. J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wapella, with military honors. Memorials: DeWitt County 4-H Foundation or DeWitt County Museum. Send condolences: www.calvertmemorial.com. Robert was born Dec. 13, 1933, in DeWitt County, the son of Burl D. Wilson and Evelyn Fern Rolofson. He was an Army veteran and retired farmer. He was a member of LeRoy United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the DeWitt County Farm Bureau, American Legion and DeWitt County Museum. He married Helen Bray on Aug. 15, 1953, in Clinton. Surviving are his wife; son, Rodney D. Wilson and wife Debra of Clinton; daughter, Polly A. Daugherty and husband Terry of Clinton; sister, Donna L. Stivers of Bloomington; grandchildren, Sarah J. Oldham and husband Michael of Downers Grove; Ryan D. Wilson and wife Sarah of Lindenhurst; Chad L. Daugherty and wife Nichole of Cerro Gordo; and Chase M. Daughtery of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Payton and Preston Oldham and Haley Daugherty. He was preceded in death by his parents. Online guest book at http://legacy.com/obituaries/herald-review/
