He was genuinely unique and will always be honored as a hero. My experience at Chaykin, Karlan, and Jacobs was more than just employment; it felt like joining a second family that embraced and nurtured me. Steven was the heart of this family. My most cherished memory? Catching him at the copier in flip-flops, hurriedly making last-minute copies to help us, yet always keeping his cool with unmatched intelligence and compassion. He motivated me to join the Big Brother/Sister program as a "Big Sister." Truly, he was the best "Big Brother" the program could ever wish for, and that's how he was perceived by everyone who knew him. He inspired me to be brave and stand with intelligence in any setting. He was the embodiment of kindness, a spirit so giving that time with him felt like a present. His legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the fortune to know him. He is greatly missed.

He made me proud to be a Chaykin!

As one of the many cousins within the Chaykin family (daughter of beloved Saul and Grace Chaykin) the depth of sadness of losing Steven is beyond comprehension. Fondest memories of many years ago, are from the early 1950’s, visiting with Aunt Mimi, Uncle Davey, Steven and Robert (Robin was not yet born) in Brooklyn, New York where we all lived to over 50 years later…visiting with Steven, his special wife, Melissa and their beautiful daughter, Sydney in their lovely Miami Beach home.
Our lives are so beautiful, so fragile, so intricately joined to others in our paths. Steven has left a beautiful legacy that will always live on in our family.
Melissa and Sydney…may Steven’s life be honored by all he loved. May his memory be cherished for all he gave. May your hearts be comforted by all you shared.

Steven was the quintessential man, husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, attorney, scholar and so much more.
Steven loved life and his family passionately. He adored Melissa and Sydney. We remember his joy when Sydney was born. He told me his life was complete.
As the oldest cousin and his babysitter, earliest memories go all the way back to Steven as an infant and caring young man. In his busy adult life he always made time for thoughtful gestures. We were always so proud of his accomplishments and the good and honorable life he lived.
Melissa and Sydney, may you be comforted and embraced by loving family and friends to see you through this difficult time.

We are stunned at this news and so sorry for your loss. Steve was a great guy. He bought flowers from us, for his wife, almost every Friday. His favorites were the long stemmed peach roses called Osianas and he would demand that we save him a bunch, and always appreciated our dropping them off in his office when he wasn't around.
