TATE, Joe S., age 86 of Winchester, passed on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, Winchester. He was the son of the late Wallace O. Tate and Josephine Farris. He leaves to cherish his memories, 10 children, Shirley (Thurman) Wilkerson of Shelbyville, Betty (Kenneth) Stewart of Pontiac, Michigan, Terry (Deloris) Tate of Nashville, Joe Lynn (Mary) Tate of Nashville, Emma Tate of Winchester, Celestine Tate and John Tate, both of Washington, D.C., Timothy Tate of Atlanta, Georgia, Phillip (Selena) Tate of Nashville and Ora (Antonio) Cartwright of Nashville; sister, Jeanette Johnson of Huntland; 24 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at noon at Friendship Tabernacle with a memorial service following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Q'O Brien Wherry as Eulogist. J.A.
