LEE SKILES FULTON
It is with great sadness that we share that our son and brother, Lee Fulton, became ill while traveling to visit family and friends and experienced a life-ending medical emergency on August 13, 2025.
Lee Skiles Fulton was born in Sherman, Texas, on July 7, 1975. He attended Wakefield Elementary School, Piner Middle School, and graduated from Sherman High School. He received his BA in Business Administration and Economics from Austin College and his MS in Information Science from the University of North Texas. Lee was continuing to build his skills by taking graduate classes in GIS and data visualization.
He served as a United States Naval Officer, deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Noble Eagle, and Southern Watch, and was honorably discharged.
Most recently, Lee worked for All Aboard America based out of Midland/Odessa, Texas. For the last eight years, he devoted his spare time and energy to bringing awareness to the plights and threats to our wildlife and wild lands, mostly for the migratory buffalo in Yellowstone National Park. Lee had been a licensed guide in Yellowstone Park, leading cross-country ski wildlife viewing tours. He was serving as the Board Treasurer for Roam Free Nation, an organization dedicated to the survival and restoration of the buffalo. He planned to spend the winter season in Montana reuniting with friends while working as a winter guide and licensed driver in the Park and providing his expertise in non-profit accounting and grant writing, and sharing his kind-hearted presence in a place that he loved.
When he was not out in nature, Lee enjoyed listening to music and playing disc golf and whiffleball. His friends and family meant the world to him. Lee is survived by his parents, Clayton and Lucy Skiles Fulton; siblings Mark and Stephanie and their families; aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the people in Whitesboro who helped take care of Lee. This includes the off-duty paramedic who stopped to help, the police department, the emergency ambulance, and medical personnel who transported Lee to the Texoma Medical Center (TMC). Special thanks to the medical team at TMC, including the chaplain.
The family invites those who want to remember Lee to a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025, at American Funeral Service in Denison, TX, located at 4312 West Crawford Street. A gathering to share stories and honor Lee will follow at a nearby restaurant. There will be a celebration of life in Montana at a later date. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Roam Free Nation:
