David Larsen Obituary

David (Dave) Larsen, 81, of Darrington, WA passed away on Nov. 6, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Born in Phelps, Wisconsin, Dave moved to Washington as a young child. He greatly enjoyed his youth in Lake Stevens, playing in the outdoors with his brothers and cousins, and participating in sports and student government at Lake Stevens High School.

After graduation, Dave proudly served in the Army for 3 years, including at Panzer Kaserne in Boblingen, Germany, before returning to Everett to work at Scott Paper and Everett Pipe & Steel. He found his true calling as a skilled Saw Filer after an apprenticeship at Weyerhaeuser Mill B, working in mills across the PNW.

Dave's life-long sweetheart was Linda Taubeneck, whom he met at Scott Paper. She was his best friend and soulmate. Their 58-year marriage was a testament to partnership, love, and mutual respect. Together, they built a life full of shared hobbies, scenic travels, and memories. Linda's devotion to Dave was unwavering, especially as she cared for him in his later years and remained by his side until his passing.

Dave's family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife, Linda, their three daughters-Michele, Kathleen, and Diane-three grandchildren-Ashley, Katelyne, and Cameron-and his great-grandson, Nyx. He is also survived by his younger brother, Edward Larsen.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Norman (Norm) Larsen Sr. and Rosella (Rose) Werner Larsen Foster, as well as his older brother, Robert (Bob) Larsen.

Dave's kindness, humor, stories, and big heart will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life is being planned for the Spring. In his honor, please consider planting a tree or supporting cerebrovascular disease research.
