David Andrew Murray of Bainbridge Island, WA, went to heaven on April 7, 2023. Dave was born on January 26, 1958 to Dennis and Marion Murray in Shoreline, Washington. Dave was one of 5 children in a blended family. Dave's sense of humor was evident at an early age and many of our family dinners were enhanced by Dave's jokes and antics. After graduating from Shoreline High School in 1976, Dave went on to earn a degree from Western Washington University in Bellingham in Graphic Design. From there he worked at Fishing and Hunting News in Seattle, then at Sound Publishing in Poulsbo and Everett, Washington.
Dave thoroughly loved to golf and he was an avid sports fan of the Seahawks, Mariners, and Washington Huskies. Dave and Pam were married in 2004 and he grew close to his step-children, James and Naomi. Sadly, the marriage ended in 2016, but they all remained close friends and they were all there with Dave as he battled the final days of his short battle with ALS. During his time in Poulsbo, Dave volunteered and served at Cross Sound Church in many different roles for years.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Marion, brother Mark and sister Barb. Dave is survived by his close friend Pam and her children (James and Naomi (Geoff, Leon), brother Jim (Josie) and his sister Sally (Tom), two nephews (Luke and Tyler) and four nieces (Katie, Becky, Emily, and Rochelle) and 2 step-nieces (Tarryn and Sari).
Dave was well known for his steadfast faith in God and his assurance of salvation. We should all live like he did, a beacon of hope and love in a world that seems to fail us daily. He was very much loved by his family and friends, and he will be missed.
A celebration of his life will be held on April 23, 2023 at 4 PM at Cross Sound Church on Bainbridge Island, WA. The church is in the Theater at Bainbridge High School, 9330 NE High School Rd., Bainbridge Island, WA 98110

Dave was always a stable part of the newspaper business. When things were not good, you could always count on him to have a joke or smile to make things better.

To Sally, Pam, and family-
My prayers are with you and family over the loss of David. He was always the sweetest, and kindest cousin we had. I remember him when he was a baby, always smiling and gentle. We talked in the winter, about meeting for lunch in the spring. I will always remember, and miss him.
