Jimmy Shinner Obituary

Jimmy E. 'Jim' Shinner

Jim Shinner died February 5, 2012 peacefully, in his sleep, after a brief illness with cancer. Jim was born on June 22, 1937 in North Bend Washington to Elmer and Margaret Shinner.
Jim was a Washington native for most of his life and will be remembered for his sense of humor and love of life. He was a people person and made friends wherever he went.
Jim graduated from Snohomish High School in 1955 and spent eight years in the Merchant Marines. He worked construction until he was injured from a fall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Margaret.
He is survived by sons, Ron and Jesse; his daughters, Leanne Jackson, Rose Marie Gray and Virginia Handorff; sister, Jean Wrona; brother, David Shinner, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
In lieu of a memorial service, Jim's ashes will be spread where many fond memories were made.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a family picnic this summer.

Jim was a very good friend of mine in grade school. We had a lot of fun together. I was just thinking of him the other day :) My best wishes go out to his family.
