Michael Andrew Steinhauer, 68, a lifelong resident of Snohomish County, passed away on September 30th, 2021 after unexpected complications post surgery. He passed away peacefully in the presence of his family.
Mike was born on April 9th, 1953 to Hugo and Doris (Tanis) Steinhauer in Everett, WA. After graduating from Marysville High School in 1971, he worked with his dad and grandfather, Billy R. Steinhauer on the Olympic Peninsula at Erickson's Mill packing cedar shakes. In 1973 he wed his high school sweetheart, Carol Krystad, going on to have three children, Matthew, Joseph, and Katie.
A friend of Bill W. since 3/9/1986, Mike embraced recovery, sharing the miracle he found with any and all who asked. He tirelessly gave back sponsoring, sharing, and serving in any capacity where he was needed. Mike had a zest for life, a warm easy smile and an infectious laugh which he shared freely with many surrounding friends. He tried to live each day with gratitude.
He was a gifted negotiator which led to a successful career in sales working for Bundy Carpets in Marysville, N. Cascade Building Materials in Everett and Barn Pros in Monroe. Many would say he could sell ice to an Eskimo!
Mike was a man with many hobbies and passions. He found great joy in playing golf, watching car races, raising and racing homing pigeons, fishing and hunting. He was a talented craftsman with an ability to build anything and everything. Mike loved and was devoted to his three children and six grandchildren (Cut the pickle. Tickle, tickle!).
Mike was predeceased by his mother Dorie, father Hugo, step-sister Maggie Steinhauer, step-mother JoAnn Steinhauer, and step-father Richard C. Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Carol, sister, Diana (Joe) Boland, step-brothers Dale, Curt and Paul Steinhauer, his three children, Matthew (Jennifer), Joseph, and Katie (JB) Beazle and their families including six grandchildren, Bailey, Owen, Easton, Torsten, JJ, and Ruby.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mike's name to Parkinson Voice Project. An outdoor Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.

I knew Mike in grade school. I am so happy I got to see him a few years ago at a Jr High gathering in Snohomish. We are having another one next month and that's how I found out of his passing.
We were just kids, but always a kind person.
I am so sorry for the family's loss.
My condolences Debbie Jackson Benedetto

So many memories of the St. Mary´s and the baseball team, but the memory I hold most dear is when I backed out of our garage and pulled some of it down and Mike came to my rescue. My heart goes out to you and your family Carol. Having lost Dave 5 years ago I feel your loss and pain.

Mike will truly be missed by many, including myself. I hope I can follow in his footsteps and try and help people in the program as much as he did. He was one of those rare people that not only talked the talk but walked the walk.
My condolences to Carol and all family.
