Roger Sorenson Obituary

Roger D. Sorenson of Everett, Wash. passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on May 14, 2016. He was born August 28 1952, in Ellensburg, Wash. to Arnold and Stella (Storlie). He grew up in Ellensburg and graduated from Ellensburg High in 1970. He then enlisted in the army where he was stationed in Germany and Crete. He returned home after his discharge and met and married Carol Reed, also of Ellensburg. They celebrated their 40th anniversary this last December 27. Roger attended Perry Trade in Yakima, Wash. and became an HVAC mechanic. They had a baby boy born in 1979 and sadly he passed away in 1980. They had a daughter, Shelby born in 1984. The family moved to Everett in 1986 where Roger got a job at Universal Refrigeration of Auburn, Wash. He loved working for the company until his health forced him to retire early. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, but most of all family. He shared a special bond with his two young granddaughters. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Justin and brother, Les. He is survived by his wife Carol; daughter, Shelby Stone and son-in-law, Nick; granddaughters, Kayleigh and Taylor Oveson, all of Everett. He is also survived by brothers, Gene of Vancouver, Wash. and Jerry (Ann) of Monroe, Wash.; sister, Sonja of Long Beach, Wash. and sister-in-law, Gwen of Ellensburg. He will be laid to rest next to his son in Yakima. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. A special thanks to Dr Rohrenbach and nurse, Kristi Stevens of the Everett Clinic for all their wonderful care over the years.
