Ronald William Sandstrom

Ronald William Sandstrom was born October 4, 1934 in Roseburg, Oregon to William Ollif and Freda Gunhilda Sandstrom and passed away May 11, 2010 in Everett, Washington at the age of 75. He attended Roseburg High, Oregon Technical Institution and received his BA in Highway Tech. After High School, Ronald enlisted in the US Army where he received the Good Conduct Medal, ending his enlistment honorably as a Private Second Class. For the next 50 years after his enlistment, Ronald worked as a Surveying Operator Engineer for Local 302 retiring in 2001. He was an active member with the Eagles and Veterans of Foreign War club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also traveling to the Oregon coast.
He is survived by his life long partner, his wife, Joyce Sandstrom; his son, Dan and Valora Sandstrom; daughter, Deena and Mike Sampson; son, Bill and Linda Sandstrom; and daughter, Sandi and Shane Lason; sister, Carol Sandstrom and her daughter, Wendy and Chuck Fletcher; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; and best friend, Pete Mazzio.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 795 Ell St. Camano Island, WA. Open to all friends and family.
