Samuel Egeck Obituary

Samuel "Sam" Joseph Egeck

Our son, Sam, passed away in a tragic accident on June 4, 2011.
We were blessed with Sam's presence here for a short 18 years but his spirit will live on in each and every life he touched. Sam's compassion, acceptance and non-judgemental nature taught us to be better parents.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support given to us by Sam's fellow students, teachers, administrators, friends and our fire department family this past week.

I had the opportunity to meet Sam as a brand new driving instructor for his last two drives. Even though that was almost four years ago, when I heard Sam's name, I remembered him instantly. He was one of my favorite students and even as a nervous first time instructor, I remember Sam as cracking me up. My thoughts are with his family. <3

I didnt know Sam personally, but after this, I felt as if I knew him all along. I was a student at Bothell High, and when my Woodinville friend walked into class, told us Sam's story I couldn't help but burst into tears. Whether I knew him or not, My heart aches because of this, and I wish you everything in Gods eye that will help <3 Sam's in a better place, tearing it up on that dirt bike, even though he's not here with us. Much Love <3

Dear Deb, Ken and Caitlin,
I knew how Sam had to be an easy going guy to be able to share the lower level of the house with a complete stranger he had never met before. I knew it was his hangout and he totally was cool with it. Thanks Sam, God bless you, Your memory is very inspiring. Love Tammy

Dear Ken, Deb and Caitlin... we pray that you can find peace and comfort at this difficult time. Your Celebration of Life Service for Sam was the most beautiful testimony of his life-- a life he fully loved and valued. He was pure joy and positivity. It is obvious he cherished his family and his future. It is so clear that he was a truly happy young man, and we are sure that is because he had you as parents, and beautiful Caitlin as his sister. We remember him as the beautiful, quiet, golden boy. He looked like sunshine at his baptism. Do you remember how we kept trading places at the baptism so that we could be his godparents, and then you could be Joy's and then my sister and her husband moved in to be Natalie's? And the priest got a little annoyed with all the shuffling around! And I remember at Sam's First Communion he was so handsome and solemn and a little shy about getting any attention. We are sad we didn't know him these past few years. We really missed a lot of joy there. We love you guys so much. We are here for you if you need anything.

Ken, Deb & Caitlin,
I have no words to describe the ache that is in my heart for you all. I am so very sorry for your loss. I will mostly remember Sam as a little guy, he was so adorable & shy. I did not have the pleasure of knowing him as he got older. I did get to see him a few times in the last couple years and he was always so polite and friendly! I am praying for you all and hope that you can feel God's peace and you all go to Him when in need of comfort. Please let me know if there is anything that we can do for you. You will get to see your precious son someday again. With love & prayers, The Beeton Family

I keep thinking of Sam as a little boy...so happy and full of joy. I remember him loving his sister, and how sweet they both were as little children. I'm grateful to have these memories and to have known Sam through all his life. He's by far the favorite little boy, akward teenager, and young man I've known. Sending you all hugs....

Sam was such a loving young man. I clearly remember him playing with Noah and encouraging him to ride a bike, build legos and just be a boy. He had a consistently sweet demeanor. He was well loved and he loved his family and friends. Words seem so inadequate at this time. May you all experience peace that passes understanding at this most difficult time.

Sam was one of my favorite students.
Fortunately, I taught his fourth and fifth grade classes at Bear Creek Elementary. I'll never forget that creative class of 2011 and whenever one would come visit me, I'd always ask about Sam Egeck. His family was so kind to me and so involved in Sam's life. Sam was bright, intelligent, hard working, funny, and had many friends. I looked forward to teaching him each day and now mourn the end of his life here on earth. Peace be with the Egeck family.

Dear Egeck Family,

My heart aches for the loss of your special boy. In the 3 years that I knew Sam as his PE Teacher at Bear Creek, I came to know what a special young man he was becoming. I pray that you all can find peace someday, and want you to know that your elementary school community mourned with you....even many years after Sam moved on to new adventures.

Dearest Ken, Debbie and Caitlin...We can not express to you how heavy our hearts have been since we heard of the loss of your loving son/brother. Sam was a very special friend to Parker over the past 12 years. There was not a week that did not go by that Sam would be the talk of the dinner table. Parker would talk of his accomplishments in riding dirt bikes, his various bikes and rides or talk about Sam and his latest adventures And in most recent years about his love for cars, his jeep and his dream of becoming a firefighter.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. If there is anything we can do fro you and your family please just ask!!!
