ROCK HILL - Mr. Jacob Lee Strong, of Rock Hill, S.C., died Thursday, April 15, 2010, in York, S.C.
He was born Dec. 23, 1952, in York County to the late Rev. Nathaniel Strong and Lottie Bell Thompson Strong. He attended York County public schools. He was a retired painter.
He is survived by wife, Mary Moise Cunningham Strong; brothers, Nathaniel Strong Jr. of Rock Hill, S.C., Alexander Ray Strong of Spartanburg, S.C., Azor Strong of Baltimore, Md., Bryan Walker (Yvonne) of Rock Hill, Darron Walker of York, S.C.; sisters, JoAnn Gordon (Tommie Lee), Pearline Strong Webb (Bernard Sr.), Betty Ann Williams and Ruthie Lee Gilmore (Ricky), all of Rock Hill; and a host if nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Parker Funeral Home. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Funeral Home. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery, with Bishop B.R. Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at 726 S. York Ave., Rock Hill.
Parker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

To the Strong family, I was sadden to hear of Jake's passing. I still have memories of him from Flint Hill. Our family was on Edgewood Dr., I remember Jake and Larry from Edgewood School. Although it have been years since I talked to Jake, I miss him knowing he isn't with us anymore,, May God Bless and Comfort you all today and forever,,

Jake was such a nice man and I'm so sorry for the family. Jake always had smile and never really complained. I thank God for allowing me to meet such a nice person. R.I.P big Jake

To the Strong family you have my sincere sympathy. God will see you through. Jake was Jake if you new Jake you know what I mean. He always had a smile and was very comical, always made you laugh. He wii be missed. Mary hang in there. Remember you are not alone.
